Notes on viewing original images

These are in the original SGI RGB image format as they were captured on ariel. If you have the X application 'display' available to you and a 24-bit display then you can add the following as a helper application (Options ... General Preferences... Helpers in Netscape): 
    image/x-rgb /iag/bin/display %s

Any well equiped unix system (i.e. 24-graphics and ImageMagick software) can be used for direct processing of these images. Example shell commands are: 

    
cd /hosts/lepas/frameGrabs/Tiburon/stills/1998/127
