Mount the VARS_Stn-M_Image_Archive share on the Mac

2) Open a terminal and go to the desired folder using the 'cd' command (use TAB to auto-complete folder and file names)
    $ cd  /Volumes/VARS_Stn-M_Image_Archive/ImageArchives/LightWaves/Imaging/CameraÉ

3) Run the script with no arguments for a terse refresher and to get help (use TAB-completion)
    $ scanned2vars.rb

Note- does not seem to do anything.

4) Run the script in test mode with what you think you want and what you think should work and watch the results.
    $ scanned2vars.rb -p StaM_Tripod  -d  19991231  -t  19_25_00  -i  60   */*.TIF

5) When you like the results of the test, run the command again with the "execute" option  (-x). Use the up-arrow key to recall recent commands, then the right and left arrow keys to move the cursor within the command string and edit by typing or backspacing as if you're in a one-line file. Hit 'Enter' at any time when you've made your changes (the cursor doesn't have to be at the end of the line):
    $ scanned2vars.rb -p StaM_Tripod  -d  19991231  -t  19_25_00  -i  60   -x   */*.TIF

6) If you realize you've made a mistake, just up-arrow, make the corrections, and run it again (e.g., should have been 1995, not 1999):
    $ scanned2vars.rb -p StaM_Tripod  -d  19951231  -t  19_25_00  -i  60   */*.TIF
